How the Water Intake Calculator Works

This calculator estimates your daily water needs based on your body weight, activity level, and climate, giving you a target in liters, cups, and fluid ounces.

It starts with a baseline of 33ml per kilogram of body weight, then adds 0.35L for moderate activity or 0.7L for high activity, plus an additional 0.5L if you're in a hot or humid climate to account for extra fluid loss through sweat.

Example: A 70kg person with moderate activity in a cool climate needs about 2.7L per day (70 Γ— 0.033 + 0.35), which is roughly 11 cups or 91 fluid ounces.
